About Stuart

Stuart commenced his legal studies at the University of Newcastle in 2010, where he graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts (double major in psychology/philosophy) and in 2015 with a Bachelor of Laws.

Stuart was admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia in 2016. Stuart joined Turnbull Hill Lawyers in 2020, prior to which his practice was predominantly in complex family law with another local firm.

Stuart’s approach

Stuart understands that just like there are no two families that are the same, there are no two family law cases that are the same.

Stuart understands that it is not enough to simply know and understand the law, but as a family law lawyer, he must know and understand his client, their circumstances, and their needs. Stuart is approachable, empathetic, and driven to achieve the very best results for his clients.

What Stuart does

Stuart practices exclusively in the family law jurisdiction, which has been his primary area of practice since 2016.

Stuart has experience in property matters, including complex matters involving corporate entities, trust structures, taxation, international assets, non-disclosure issues, and superannuation.

Stuart has experience in matters of spousal maintenance.

Stuart has experience in parenting matters, including serious matters concerning family violence and child abuse. Stuart also has experience in both interstate and international relocation cases. Stuart is a passionate advocate, and regularly appears in both the Federal Circuit Court of Australia and the Family Court of Australia.

Stuart works with all manner of clients to achieve practical solutions to complex issues. Stuart has worked with high wealth clients with complex property matters, including clients who live overseas.

Stuart is a live music fan and, for his sins, a Newcastle Knights tragic. Stuart has a former life as a musician and has a keen interest in continental philosophy.
