Gavin Hanrahan

Gavin is our Managing Partner and in addition to his management role he assists business owners to establish and maintain a productive workplace culture by working with them to come up with the best ways to recruit and engage employees for their business, to look after the wellbeing of those employees and to manage their performance. He is the Partner-in-Charge of our team of Commercial Lawyers, Claims team and Workplace team.

Gavin advises on a broad range of workplace issues, including workplace performance and culture, employment contracts, workplace agreements, awards, NAPSAs, employee entitlements, executive contracts, post employment restraints, disciplinary and termination issues, redundancy, workers compensation, independent contractors, dispute resolution, anti discrimination, occupational health & safety, equal employment opportunity, workplace investigations.

He also assists people who have suffered injury to bring insurance claims. He has a particular skill with working with victims of catastrophic injury. He works with them to establish and maintain a productive relationship with the Insurer so as to maximise the opportunity for timely rehabilitation.

He represents clients in proceedings in courts and tribunals and is a member of one of Australia’s leading mediation organisations, LEADR.

Outside of work, Gavin actively participates in broader community organisations. Gavin is the President of Central Charlestown Junior Rugby League, a member of the Boards of Leap Frog Ability and the Lake Macquarie Business Growth Centre, a member of the Holford Oval Mount Hutton Management Committee. Gavin has formerly been Treasurer of the Redhead SLSC Nippers and the Once a Knight Old Boys, Secretary of Central Charlestown Junior Rugby League, President of the Gateshead Oval Management Committee and Chairman of the Newcastle Rugby League Judiciary Committee.

 

Gavin is also a member of the list of legal practitioners approved the WIRO to provide workers compensation legal services.
