Ofeina helps clients navigate the complexities of the legal system with an adaptable, client-centred approach that ensures fair representation for all.
About Ofeina
After completing his initial university degree in 2009, Ofeina relocated with his family to the United Kingdom to play rugby, gaining valuable international perspective before transitioning into the law. In 2020, Ofeina completed his law degree and today, he brings that hard-edged work ethic, team accountability, and relentless preparation into his practice as a litigator.
High-stakes disputes demand poise under pressure, and Ofeina pairs a sharp, rigorous approach to legal strategy with a calm, highly grounded demeanour.
Ofeina’s background in criminal defence spans all tiers of the NSW court system, from Local Court sentences and defended hearings to District Court severity and all grounds appeals.
Ofeina regularly handles complex bail applications, including “show cause” matters and Supreme Court bail applications. He also appears regularly as instructing solicitor alongside counsel in District Court trials, Supreme Court, and NSW Court of Criminal Appeal (NSWCCA) proceedings. Recently he appeared as instructing solicitor before the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal (NSWCCA) in a matter concerning severity of sentence appeal. The appellant originally received a head sentence of twelve and a half years with a non-parole period of eight and half years. His involvement secured a substantial reduction, lowering the total head sentence to eight and a half years and the non-parole period from eight and a half years to five and a half years.
Ofeina also advises on civil law and employment law, and is expanding into contested estates, bringing the same meticulous and considered approach to each matter.
Known for leaving no stone unturned, Ofeina balances legal strategy with an approachable manner that puts clients at ease without ever compromising on the detail. Outside of work, he stays true to his roots still lacing the boots up for the occasional rugby game, and enjoys cooking traditional cultured foods, travelling and spending time with his family.
