Electronic Conveyancing, or “conveyancing”, is here!  The transition to digital conveyancing transactions has now been mandated by the NSW Government.

From 1 July 2019, all standard conveyancing transactions must be lodged electronically, as mandated by the NSW Government. This will see an end to paper Certificates of Title and the evolution of all Land Titles in NSW to eCertificates of Title.

We believe there are numerous benefits afforded by eConveyancing for both buyers and sellers.

eConveyancing utilises electronic signatures, does away with hard copy certificates of title and requires the electronic transfer of funds. This means you can complete the transaction from the comfort of your home, and without having to print a piece of paper.

As a purchaser, you become registered on title as the owner of the property immediately on settlement.

As a seller the proceeds of sale hit your bank account within an hour of settlement of the sale.

Recently, a valued client who lives and works in Malaysia sold his Merewether unit without the need to return to Australia, or even print a piece of paper!

Under the mandate, the following standard conveyancing documents must be lodged electronically – Transfers, Mortgages, Discharges of Mortgage, Caveats, Withdrawals of Caveat and Transmission applications.

We believe at Turnbull Hill Lawyers we are at the forefront of conveyancing.  We were early adopters of electronic conveyances.  We have prepared many electronic Contracts of Sale, exchanged contracts electronically utilising electronic signatures and have completed over 400 electronic settlements.

We will continue to embrace eConveyancing utilising its many benefits to provide you with the best conveyancing experience possible!
