Are you a business owner … you should take certain steps to ensure you do not fall foul of the Fair Work Act …
Business owners are invited to attend information sessions presented by Gavin Hanrahan in relation to:
- casual employees; and
- terminating the services of an employee who long term has been on workers’ compensation, sick or injured
During these sessions, Gavin will discuss the meaning of the term “long term casual employee” as it appears in the Fair Work Act, and the steps you must take to ensure the correct engagement of such an employee, and ensuring you do not compromise their casual status during their employment with you.
Employees on workers’ compensation long term
Gavin will also provide tips on how to terminate the services of an employee who is unfit to perform the inherent requirements of their position, due to a workers’ compensation injury, or other injury or illness. Again, there are certain steps you must take, this time to ensure you do not fall foul of the Fair Work Act, the Workers’ Compensation Act, or any number of pieces of discrimination Legislation.
