Lisa Roberts is a member of our Estate Planning Team at Turnbull Hill Lawyers. She specialises in the areas of estate planning, asset protection and business succession planning.
Lisa has an Economics Degree from the University of Sydney and a Diploma in Law from the Barristers and Solicitors Admissions Board. She has worked in the legal profession since 1988 mainly for medium sized law firms. Until 2004 Lisa specialised in commercial law and property law which gained her valuable experience in the laws dealing with wills and estates, trust law, tax law, bankruptcy law and superannuation law as well as regularly dealing with all the forms of structures used by people to create, develop and preserve their assets and wealth. In 1996 she became a Law Society Accredited Specialist in Property Law but has allowed that accreditation to lapse as she is now totally focused on the areas of estate planning, asset planning and business succession planning.
Estate planning is one of the biggest growth areas in the legal and accounting professions at the moment. The reasons are well known and documented – with growing community wealth, baby boomers reaching retirement, small businesses now worth a lot of money, blended families (becoming more common) and same-sex couples (becoming more recognised), it all means there is added complexity to the estate planning process from every perspective.
Lisa is passionate about the need for proper estate and succession planning for families and the need for establishment of a team of “trusted advisers” for clients, as she believes truly effective estate planning is impossible without the cooperation of the clients’ legal and financial advisers.
Lisa regularly presents seminars and workshops for the clients of accountants and financial planners in the areas of estate planning, asset protection planning and business succession planning.
