Michelle has been working in the Wills and Estates division at Turnbull Hill Lawyers since 2001. Michelle’s experience includes the taking of client instructions, preparation of documents (personal documents such as Wills, Powers of Attorney and also court documents), witnessing of documents, attendances at court and at mediations designed to settle contested matters and also in giving seminars to the public on Wills and Estates and other related issues.

In estate matters, Michelle has acted on behalf of Executors in obtaining grants of Probate (where there is a Will), acting for Administrators in obtaining grants of Letters of Administration (where there is no Will) and in the estate administration after the grants have been issued. Michelle also has experience acting on behalf of beneficiaries to ensure that they receive their full entitlements from estates and also, in relation to claims made by potential dependants for the payment of superannuation death benefits.

Apart from obtaining grants and acting on the estate administration, Michelle has also been exposed to contested estate matters. Such matters include, claims made against estates from persons who have been left of a Will; claims that the person making the Will was not of sound mind or was under duress; or other matters such as the will being incorrectly signed/witnessed etc.

Michelle presents seminars for members of various Probus Clubs, Rotary, Hunter and New England Area Health Service support groups and Bowling Clubs, where she talks about Wills, Powers of Attorney, Enduring Guardians and Estate related matters, such as grants of representation and estate administration.
